Hello again, I’m Alexandra A.K.A the Bordeaux Foodie.

Before diving into the world of food tourism, I spent most of my career in the hospitality industry where I worked at some of the top 5 star hotels in Paris and Bordeaux. I have always been captivated by the glitz and glamor of these kinds of establishments and I found incredible joy in playing a part in someone’s dream vacation.

Outside of work,  I spent my time exploring the vibrant culinary scene in Bordeaux, diving into the city’s rich history, and quickly falling in love with the place I called home. At the time, becoming a food tour guide wasn’t on my radar. What was on my mind, however, was my ever-growing list of “must-try” dining spots . From the cozy neighborhood boulangeries to the Michelin-starred restaurants, I was eager to try it all! 

After more than eight years in the hospitality industry, I felt it was time for a new chapter in my life.

I realized that my passion for food and my love for the city of Bordeaux could be the perfect combination to try something new. Suddenly, the idea of becoming a food tour guide sparked an excitement I hadn’t had before. I began brainstorming names, revisiting my favorite local food spots, introducing myself to shop owners, and mapping out my first tour route. Within just one month, The Bordeaux Foodie was born.

Since March of 2024, I’ve never been happier. I love what I do—sharing the gastronomy and history of this beautiful city brings me endless joy. My greatest hope is to continue this journey, to contributing to someone’s dream vacation and to show the curious, thirsty and the hungry why Bordeaux is one of the best and foodiest places to be!
